Testimonials for Painting Workshops

I have done numerous workshops with Caroline over the years and can honestly say they have contributed to life altering change for me.

Caroline is a gem. She creates a work space that is not just safe and supportive but is also deeply moving both personally and artistically. Highly skilled in intuitive inquiry, she leads the group with an open heart, allowing and encouraging each person’s inner and outer processes to find their balance while also losing the inner critic.

I recommend her workshops to anyone needing to explore, soften and/or deepen their relationship to their own creative process.

Artist, retired Councillor and College Instructor

About five years ago I took one of Caroline’s Free Expression Painting workshops and it was a brilliant experience. I got to come face to face with what was between me and my creativity. There was time to share with each other and lots of time to paint. I appreciated just having the time to just let myself go, paint, play with colours, images, cry, laugh, and feel the grief of my mothers death. And when it came time for my last painting, I found myself painting the world that I wanted, to finish with my own personal paradise.

It was a great adventure, and I would recommend this workshop for anyone looking to get in touch with their creativity in any area of life. Caroline is a sensitive, inquisitive, knowledgable and caring facilitator, and she kept us gently through our personal journeys.

Interestingly I attended Caroline’s workshop on the advice of my Naturopath. At the time I was going through a difficult time supporting my aging and ailing parents. I didn’t see myself as an artist but through my career as a counsellor, I knew the value of art as an exploration of the self.

Even though its been awhile since I took the workshop, the learnings I took away are still with me. It was the beginning of finding my creative processes a means of self expression. I needed to find the creative medium that would allow me to bring onto the light all that lay in the depths of my soul. Fortunately there was enough instruction and support in Caroline’s workshop that I was not left floundering in self doubt and critical judgements of my creative abilities.

I believe the workshop facilitated the beginning of my willingness to put aside those limiting beliefs about creativity and what it means to be an artist.

Caroline has the unique ability to see the creative spark in everyone. Fortunately she has the ability to fan those little sparks into long lasting glowing embers. Since taking that workshop I have counted the creative journey in ways I could never have anticipated. I found my creative medium in fibre arts through felting, weaving, natural dyes, embroidery etc.

Being able to see myself as an artistic person has broadened my sense of self and my beliefs around art and creativity. And best of all the gems I gleaned from my time with Caroline, is the joy that arises within from each artist adventure.

I felt tremendously blessed to participate in Caroline’s aptly named workshop, “Painting Into Spirit”. She has created a beautiful space that flows directly from her heart and out of her own clearly defined life purpose.

Caroline establishes and holds a strong and abiding container in which love, trust and support are generously given. We beautiful women came together, with all that we carried, and were met by Caroline with non-judgement and unconditional love.

The calm and nurturing nature environment became a reflection of our deeper selves as we connected deeply to each other and our own unique creative process. And did we have fun? You bet we did!

My experience in Caroline’s “Painting Into Spirit” Retreat was an unforgettable transformative experience.

I was at a burnout point in my professional life and needed time and space to recover. I am not an artist but was drawn to the retreat because of its emphasis on mindfulness and expressing oneself in a different way. My familiar ways of dealing with the challenges of my professional life weren’t working anymore and her gentle, accepting and caring approach to painting as a spiritual practice was exactly what I needed. Two unexpected outcomes were that it was a catalyst for me to reshape my consulting practice, and i have actually started painting!

I highly recommend this retreat if you are looking for an inspiring environment to reflect on your life, to explore and express a different side of yourself, and ultimately, to fell energized and renewed!

Caroline has been a masterful guide and teacher pin my pathos truly owning and indeed loving my authentic creative voice. I have been fortunate to have participated in her workshops several times. She has an innate and an amazing ability to create and hold a safe, sacred space for the deep dive journey into my self, into all ourselves.

The group setting in powerful and dynamic as many and varied individuals travel the path of their own process. All the while I felt that Caroline’s soft but powerful presence was always available or me. My artwork has changed and my art practice has deepened after every experience I have had with her.

I’ve recommend these workshops to just about everyone I know, in particular artists, and really anyone who needs a little caretaking and a soft gentle nudge to explore themselves through the magic of creativity.

Botton line, I love Caroline! Her workshops have helped to transform me. I will absolutely immerse myself in the experience many more times. Something in me always grows and changes in the process.
